Fondazione Galleria Milano inaugurates its first collaboration with another important cultural institution in the neighborhood, Viafarini.work, by hosting a Storytelling event by Premiata Ditta (Anna Stuart Tovini and Vincenzo Chiarandà) in its courtyard. This project, which offers a taste of the most significant stories collected in Municipio 4, is a prelude to the exhibition at Viafarini.work titled “Frottage, a Sociable Device.” The Storytelling event is designed as an intense, festive, and participatory way to retrace the project’s genesis and present the book that is part of it. The occasion also serves to showcase Fondazione Galleria Milano’s inclusive approach to the local community. A short collective walk through the neighborhood with the artists will follow, guiding the audience to the exhibition at Viafarini.work.

Viafarini.work, with the exhibition “Frottage, a Sociable Device” by Premiata Ditta, inaugurates its redeveloped space at Via Marco d’Agrate 33 in Milan. On display are large drawings resulting from frottages created on the entrance doors of Municipality 4, from Corso XXII Marzo to Corvetto, Via dei Cinquecento, Ponte al Lambro, Rogoredo, and more. The artists asked residents to indicate the doors most steeped in stories and history, and their narratives also gave rise to a book. “Frottage, a Sociable Device” is an open and collaborative process that the artists have developed since 2021 in three areas of the city, involving various associations.

Simultaneously, Viafarini is hosting the Campus Itinerari Corvetto activities in its spaces, offered to 60 children and their families thanks to Fondazione Cariplo. Five full-time summer campus weeks are planned, featuring visits to cultural centers in the Corvetto area, educational experiences in nature, and creative activities with professional artist educators: Anna Maconi, Caterina Nebl, Ester Galli, Liana Ghukasyan, Anna Luoni, Irina Ghivier, Fabiana Lanza, Ilaria Ungaro, Francesca Zavanone. Additionally, 15 students from the Brera Academy’s art therapy course are collaborating, supported by Professor Nicoletta Braga.

On June 11, Viafarini.work open the doors of its studios, presenting the works of artists Andrea Bocca, Margherita Citi, Camila Curiel, Vincenzo De Bari, Carlo Galli, Diego Gelosi, Viktoria Kurnicki, Francesca Migone, Lorenzo Montinaro, Arjan Shehaj, Silvia Sirpresi, Gianluca Tramonti, Matteo Urbani, Ana Julia Vilela, and Vincenzo Zancana.

The event is an opportunity to inaugurate the Viafarini.work multipurpose space, renovated thanks to funds from the “Prossima Impresa” call for proposals by the Municipality of Milan and the Chamber of Commerce, and through the collaboration of SdARCH Trivelli&Associati.

The space will allow for better promotion of projects with economic and social impact, such as Soulfood Forestfarms, active in agroforestry at Parco della Vettabbia, and Fantasmagoria cinematic productions, involved in Virgilio Villoresi’s film “Orfeo.”

The evening concludes with an aperitivo featuring local beer from Ibrida Birra, organized in collaboration with Fondazione Galleria Milano.
